PROJECT BRIEF
AltiGeo was appointed to carry out an as-built survey of the existing commercial premises at 8th Lock, Ashtown, to support the client’s lease fit-out works and provide accurate existing information to the design team.
A key requirement was to accurately record floor opes, service penetrations and ducts passing through floor slabs. Particular attention was also given to finished floor levels, slab levels and underside of slab levels, ensuring the design team had reliable information for coordination of the proposed fit-out.
Scope of Services
The survey included external and internal laser scanning of the premises, with additional focus on areas containing complex building services and structural coordination requirements.
High-density scan data was captured where required, particularly in pump rooms, utility areas and service zones, where the geometry and MEP information needed to be clearly recorded.
Methodology
AltiGeo used a combination of Leica RTC360 scanning for the external areas and Leica BLK360 scanning for the internal spaces. This allowed the survey team to efficiently capture the overall building context while recording internal spaces and service areas in detail.
Black and white targets were used to establish survey control and geolocate the pointcloud. As the property was newly finished and construction works were largely complete, the client requested that survey nails not to be installed.

Project Outcome
The final as-built survey provided the client and design team with a reliable digital record of the existing premises, supporting the next stage of fit-out design and coordination.
